TPS & MPS: TPS breaks 10 million barrier

The TPS file, managed by the Direct Marketing Association, reached 10.1 million records on 20 September. According to the DMA, this sharp increase is a result of the BT Privacy advertising campaign. BT has added 1.2 million records to the file so far, 30 per cent of which are already registered. Thirty per cent of registrations are made online and 70 per cent through the call centre.

The MPS file size stood at 2.4 million records on 20 September. The DMA reports file growth is steady and 70 per cent of registrations are made through the MPS website. Local authorities are increasingly publicising MPS in their environmental campaigns. MPS recently sent local authority environmental officers details of the various preference services and information they should use in promotions.
