The appointment follows the News Corp-owned Fox Interactive Channels' decision to manage MySpace's local advertising, marketing and promotion across seven markets worldwide to reduce operational costs.

FIC, which operates 170 linear and non-linear television services, will manage marketing and advertising sales for MySpace in Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Poland, Mexico and Turkey to expand the local reach of the social networking website with advertisers in these territories.

TPC Media recently emerged from its predecessor sales house, The Publishing Consultancy, which had been the ad sales company for Emap and, latterly, H Bauer, until Bauer Media brought sales in-house in April last year. The new business is being run by David Hill, previously a director of ITV Digital.

Last month, TPC was handed the regional sales account for Jazz FM.

Hill said the FIM brands offered advertisers multiple unique, innovative and creative opportunities to engage its audience.
