A 37-year old man suffered a broken leg and a woman of 55 sustained ankle injuries last Monday when the lift began its 140ft ascent.

The event space is now back up and running with several private bookings expected. It closed for three days whilst the City of London and Health & Safety carried out rigorous checks.

"I am pleased to say that the whole exhibition including the Engine Rooms and the Walkways are now open and events at Tower Bridge are able to recommence," Seasoned Events managing director Colin Sayers told Event. "Guest safety is paramount to Seasoned Events."

"We have a full diary of events planned and did not have to cancel any events, except the usual tower exhibition, over the three days."
