It is not known whether his departure is linked with recent redundancies across the Clear Channel group or if he has another job to go to.

Jarvis, a former British Olympic swimmer, joined Clear Channel from CBS Radio, where he was head of research.

He worked closely with Clear Channel's UK marketing director, Pip Hainsworth.

Prior to joining the outdoor media owner, he also worked in strategic insight at MediaCom in the US and research house Millward Brown.

Clear Channel did not respond to requests for comment by the time of publication.

Earlier this month, Clear Channel reported flat revenue in 2008 and a 16% slump in the fourth quarter, attributed to a $2.8bn loss year on year.

In January, parent company CC Holdings announced plans to cut 9% of its workforce, equivalent to 1,850 positions.
