TNT launch personalised stamp after trial proves successful

LONDON - TNT Post has launched a personalised stamp service after a DM trial saw nearly a 5 per cent increase in response after using its own design of stamps.

The postal service will offer its customers the opportunity to create their own designs to replace the standard printed stamp and include them on business mailings.

Direct Wines designed four stamps for the trial earlier this year and described the ‘your stamp’ service as "an extremely powerful marketing tool."  During the trial 119,531 DM items were sent out, 28,260 of them with a personalised stamp.

Laura Hall, production manager at Direct Wines, said: "We can produce as many or as few personalised stamps as needed and this gives us the opportunity to create stamps personalised to wine makers and regions."

Nick Wells, chief executive of TNT Post, said: We are always looking to innovate and help our customers glean the best results from their mail. Consumers are bombarded with several marketing messages every day and therefore businesses have to work a lot harder to achieve stand out on their mailings.

The service has been running in the Netherlands since 2006. TNT Post introduced the concept, which is monitored by Mail Monitor. The results have so far shown a 15 per cent uplift in opening rates.
