
Greene replaces Steve McLaughlin, who was recently promoted to the role of chief commercial officer for digital and consumer revenues.
He will report to Murdoch MacLennan, TMG chief executive, and will be in charge of promotions, circulation and production across The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph.
Greene was marketing and circulation director for The Independent and The Independent on Sunday between 1998 and 2008.
During this time, he oversaw the circulation and marketing strategy for the launch of the compact edition of The Independent.
He has also previously worked at IPC, the magazine publisher.
