Long, former managing director of the Capital FM network and latterly interim managing director of GCap's south west stations on a fixed-term contract, will carry out a slightly enlarged version of the role she was brought in to replace.
She will look after local, national and regional sales for Tindle's 12 regional stations, developing new revenue streams and working closely with chief executive Kevin Stewart on operations to support the regional managing directors.
"This is a huge step change for us," said Stewart. "We are not a small radio group anymore. With our new Norwich and Ipswich stations coming on air, we will cover the whole of East Anglia and we're looking to tap into the national market, which is worth £6 to £7m to radio in this region."
Long, who starts on 13 November and will report to Stewart, will replace Howard Bowles, who left Tindle Radio two months ago and will start as head of local sales at TLRC next Monday.
The position has come about following a reshuffle at TLRC, which has a turnover of around £20m, after it shut its Enterprises division earlier this month, citing annual losses of £250,000.
Bowles will focus on local sales, which make up 90% of TLRC's business.
spending most of his time at any of TLRC's 28 stations.
Meanwhile TLRC brand builder manager Tim Nice has been made head of business development at the company, charged with overseeing all non spot-advertising, developing new revenue streams and liaising with TLRC's national sales house, First Radio Sales, and its stations.
