The event took place at London’s Earls Court from 31 January to 3 February. It attracted more than 500 brands, and 65% of exhibitors have already re-booked space for the 2014 show.
Among the show’s key highlights were the ‘Taste the World’ zones, where more than 8,000 complimentary samples of world food and drink were available, and the world entertainment stage, featuring appearances from Ben Fogle, Jonathan Dimbleby and Chris Packham.
The new travel health clinic also offered free consultation with nurses on what vaccinations visitors might need for their next journey.
Sam North, show director at organiser Clarion, said: "We are so pleased with the response to this year’s show. The annual travel spend of our loyal visitor base was higher than ever and as a result, a huge percentage of exhibitors have re-booked for 2014. Confidence has returned to the travel industry and there is clearly a strong appetite for the Destinations Show, which provides travel advice, inspiration, education and entertainment all in one place. We look forward to building on this success for the 2014 show."
