The Times links with Virgin Radio for Film First push

LONDON - The Times has signed a sponsorship deal with Virgin Radio to promote its Film First season of exclusive film screenings.

The deal will see a series of on-air promotional trails and features in the form of movie updates including information about the exclusive screening of the week, movie clips and comments about films from The Times' reviewers.

Ten movie updates will be broadcast each week during the late afternoon and evening, and additional trails will run throughout Virgin Radio's programming schedule.

Katie Vanneck, promotions director at The Times, said: "Our readers are passionate about film and we wanted to bring alive the Film First promotion through another medium. Virgin Radio has created a strong campaign to deliver our message through to their listeners. Virgin has a good audience reach for us and it was the natural partner for Film First."

The deal extends The Times' existing agreement with the station, which sees it sponsor its sports coverage. The deal was negotiated for The Times by its media agency Carat.
