Tiger moms eschew fun robots in Wonder Workshop spots

Hub Strategy & Communication introduces a new learning toy in 30-second films.

Children taking coding classes in the Swiss Alps and tickling the ivories to Rachmaninoff are familiar sights to tiger moms. Kids teaching a robot how to launch a ball that crashes into a pyramid of cups is not—because it’s fun, and "that’s what makes it wrong, honey," according to two new spots from Wonder Workshop. The makers of Dash and Dot coding robots teamed up with San Francisco-based Hub Strategy & Communication to develop the 30-second films that will appear nationally on television, digital and streaming radio with heavy play in San Francisco, Austin, Minneapolis, Nashville, Seattle and Boston. Since robots make better holiday gifts than Valentine’s Day presents, the campaign will wrap on Christmas 2016.
