Culinary artists Bompas & Parr will stage an exhibition showcasing the ways in which fridges kill food, as well as preserve it. Launching on Monday, the exhibition will be curated by the British Museum of Food, which was founded by Bompas & Parr, and will run for one month. An accompanying booklet - 'Fridges Fight Back: The White Goods are Restless' - attempts to subvert the central status that fridges hold in the home. The exhibition will be held in Shoreditch and will feature a number of fridge-based art installations, as well as a commnity fridge that will allow locals to deposit food and drink, which will then be shared with local charities and food banks.
