The company was allocated 300,000 tickets for the London 2012 Games, and is offering a range of travel packages from basic Games and accommodation deals, to fully inclusive top-notch ticket, hotel and transport experiences.

"There was a spike in interest when the tickets were made available, then when the ballot came out our sales dropped as people where waiting to find out what they’d got. Since the announcement our sales have gone up again," said Vaughan.

He also said that he is getting a lot of interest from corporate buyers who may find the official hospitality tickets a little "too spicy for the world we’re living in today".

"With our packages you can still get the nice hotel and good tickets and create your own hospitality solution around them," he revealed.

A large proportion, 80% he said, are under £500 per person with the cheapest starting at £99 for tickets and accommodation.

Vaughan was talking in the plenary session titled ‘Under Starter’s Orders…’ moderated by David Hornby.

Around 50% of the audience said they are already involved in the Games in some shape or form.
