Things we like: The Voice finds a sponsor and Cavendish models for GQ feature

The Voice’s fitting sponsor

ITV surely could not have asked for a better sponsor for The Voice than Domino’s. It’s such a natural fit for a weekend evening in front of the box that any live "event" TV show not sponsored by the brand feels like a missed opportunity.

But will the show be a hit now that it has left the BBC? Given that ITV has hung on to Will.i.am and brought back Sir Tom Jones, it’s unlikely to be having the kind of sleepless nights that Channel 4 might have over The Great British Bake Off.

A luxury fashion tie-up

GQ, the Condé Nast title, has partnered The Woolmark Company to put together a "wool power" photographic portfolio featuring top athletes such as Mark Cavendish, Thom Evans and Louis Smith wearing merino wool.

Woolmark is using the tie-up to raise awareness of the use of the material in activewear. As part of the partnership, GQ has also created three films featuring the sportsmen. The first one is about the similarities between ballet and boxing and stars the Royal Ballet’s Eric Underwood and boxing champion Conor Benn.

...And one thing we don't ...

Breitbart’s advertising attack

Alt-right US news outlet Breitbart has declared war on Kellogg after the company stopped advertising on the site.

Breitbart, which has been criticised for racist and sexist content, accused Kellogg of "bigotry". Though it is a proponent of free-market capitalism, its petition calls on readers to boycott Kellogg products.

Other brands including Allstate, Nest and EarthLink have also pulled ads from Breitbart amid a social media campaign urging advertisers to withdraw support for the site after US president-elect Donald Trump appointed its former executive chairman Steve Bannon as his chief strategist.
