"Gutterballs" scene from "The Big Lebowski" is disappointing without good sound in Anomaly-crafted spot.
To promote its new home theater speaker the Sonos Playbase, the brand worked with Anomaly to make the point that without sound, movies such as the Coen Brothers’ "The Big Lebowski," are disenchanting. In a 30-second spot, Sonos depicts the "Gutterballs" scene from the Coen Brothers’ cult classic, but strips the first 15-seconds of the Kenny Rogers and The First Edition’s song "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" that plays while "The Dude" is dancing in a drug-induced haze. Without the music the scene is not the same. All that can be heard is Jeff Bridges’ "The Dude" grunting and the dancers’ heel-tapping. The spot will appear in cinema, streaming TV and on social. The campaign will also supported by print and out-of-home creative.
