Tetley's Tea Folk come out of the closet

Tetley Tea is launching the second ad in its £9m campaign tomorrow (2 October), reintroducing Sydney and Gaffer along with the rest of the Tea Folk.

. The ads aim to attract younger tea drinkers and cement its overall lead in the market.

A heart warming one-minute TV ad created by MCBD shows the Tea Folk emerging from a cupboard where they have been sleeping for the past 10 years.

They sneak out of the closet to Tetley's manufacturing plant where they are amazed to discover Tetley has a new green and extra strong range.

The Folk are then discovered and led towards another cupboard. They cower in fear of being put back but then realise it is full of tea and mugs.

On drinking a cup of Tetley, Gaffer asks Sydney if he's "filling up" as tears begin to well in his eyes. Sydney replies "I'm just glad to be back".
