The app enables customers to shop on the go for groceries via their iPhones. Once downloaded, those customers who have registered with Tesco.com will be able to access their home store’s product range and their favourite items, which are recognised by previous online purchases.

Users can log in to their grocery account and add forgotten items to their basket, or start a new order, checking out on the phone or later online.

Burger King is the second highest new entry at number 4 with an app that allows people to find Burger King restaurants and keep tabs on the chain's latest promotions.

Travel agent Thomas Cook has claimed 13th place with a new entry. Unfortunately its app can't teleport you to your holiday destination but it will tell you how many euros you get to the pound and other exchange rates.

The chart is powered by analytics app developed by with non-commercial branded apps removed.
