It has teamed up with a number of restaurant chains and amusement attractions, such as Café Rouge, Pizza Express and Alton Towers, to offer money off vouchers as Clubcard rewards.

The Tesco Clubcard, which is operated by Dunnhumby, was launched in 1993 and now has more than seven million members.  It was widely credited as being pivotal to Tesco overtaking Sainsbury's to become the UK's biggest supermarket.

The Clubcard provides the Tesco with customer data and allows them to communicate directly with their customers and target lapsed shoppers with targeted money-off vouchers and offers.
