The Telegraph said it would run in-depth analysis of the tournament through its Pubcast, so-called because it will be broadcast from the Red Lion pub in London's Soho.
Henry Winter, Patrick Barclay, former Arsenal player Alan Smith and Tim Rich are set to feature in the Daily Telegraph's coverage, as well as Sir Clement Freud, 'Broken News''s Kevin Day, and Richard Gibson, the actor who played Herr Flick in ''Allo, 'Allo'.
Guy Ruddle, the Daily Telegraph's podcast editor, said: "Arguing about football is what pubs are for. It seemed only right to bring the best football brains from the world of journalism and deploy them to the frontline for the duration of the World Cup."
The pubcast will be available to listen online or download from 3pm every weekday afternoon, with the Daily Telegraph promising what the paper says is "the most intelligent, most well-informed, most thoughtfully opinionated football argument in any pub, anywhere".
The pubcast will be in direct competition with The Times' Skinner and Baddiel podcast, which is being sponsored by Dodge, and will follow the two comedians as they travel around Germany following England's World Cup campaign.
