Among the changes are Julian Sambles, who joins as head of online operations, and Sonia Sudhakar, who takes the role of head of online marketing.
Sambles will oversee the implementation and planning of the Telegraph's new-media products and online development. His previous employers include Rightmove.co.uk, Vodafone and SkiWorld. Sudhakar will develop marketing and promotions for the Telegraph website. Prior to joining the Telegraph, Sudhakar was head of CRM for Lastminute.com and British Airways.
As previously reported on Brand Republic, Edward Rousell has been hired to develop and implement the overall editorial strategy for Telegraph.co.uk. Rousell, who is the most senior of the recent appointments, worked at Bloomberg News for more than 11 years as its global managing director and bureau chief for London, Paris and Brussels.
Eleanor Barlow will become digital planning manager and research the Telegraph's digital strategy. She previously worked for AKQA Digital, which has run campaigns with Nike, Orange, Sainsbury's and Norwich Union.
Elsewhere, Chris Lloyd has been promoted from classified sales manager to head of business development, and will generate advertising revenue for the Telegraph website. Mark Davey, as partnerships manager, will develop business partnerships for the Telegraph website. He lists Yahoo!, Trinity Mirror Digital and Emap among his previous employers.
Finally, Amy Michael has been made digital strategist and will generate revenue through the Telegraph's online creative development.
The Telegraph said the seven changes outline its commitment to fully integrating its online and print editions. The paper recently launched its On The Go Blackberry business service and became the first UK newspaper to offer a podcasting service.
Annelies van den Belt, the Telegraph Group's new media director said: "The new team is dynamic, energetic, passionate and will bring a new focus to digital media at the Telegraph. Experts in their field, they have a wealth of experience in traditional and new media, customer acquisition, online marketing and digital channels. I am extremely excited about the future of the Telegraph.co.uk."
