LONDON - The Telegraph Media Group has appointed Carat to handle its media planning and buying account.

Telegraph moves media account to Carat

The account was previously held by Universal McCann. The move, which came without a pitch, is part of a broader review of marketing services at the newspaper group - it is also reviewing its creative and direct marketing arrangements.

Rapier and the Adam & Eve/AMP, TBWA\London and Tequila team and Archibald Ingall Stretton are all pitching for the business.

The review was overseen by Mike Moore - the executive director of Consumer Markets at Telegraph Media Group. The shake-up follows the departure of Katie Vanneck, who returned to Times Media as sales and marketing director last summer

The appointment comes ahead of the arrival of Barry Flanigan the director of marketing and communications at AOL UK who is joining Telegraph Media Group as marketing director.
