Telegraph links up with ITN to expand website content

LONDON - The Telegraph Group has entered a strategic partnership with ITN to create and broadcast Telegraph-branded multimedia content for the Telegraph website.

ITN, which will handle the production and distribution of multimedia material for the , said an online version of the newspaper would also be available from 4pm Monday to Friday from today, with an updated edition appearing at 5.30pm.

The multimedia edition, which will appear as a downloadable PDF file, will consist of regularly updated audio and video galleries, 10 pages of news, business, sport and entertainment, comments from the Your View online debate section, and a range of crosswords, puzzles and cartoons.

The Telegraph said it was also launching an "audio slide show" of images and commentary from its foreign correspondents.

Edward Roussel, online editorial director at the Telegraph, said that the partnership with ITN "demonstrates our commitment to being at the cutting edge of the new-media age".

The Telegraph is currently in the process of moving to its new headquarters in London's Victoria as part of its digital and print integration programme.

However, the multimillion-pound changes will lead to around 133 job losses, prompting staff to ballot for strike action.
