Telegraph ditches T2

The Daily Telegraph has confirmed that it is to axe its T2 supplement for teenagers in favour of an online version.

The weekly supplement, published on Saturdays, was launched in April 1999 and was intended to help attract a younger weekend readership for the broadsheet. The last edition will be published on February 24 but an online edition, t2online.com, will continue to be updated on a daily basis.

The Telegraph is also understood to be planning a series of one-off sporting supplements, each focusing on a different sporting season. The first, planned for February, is to cover Formula 1. The move follows the successful launch of monthly sports supplements by The Observer and The Times.
