Telegraph bosses tipped to cut yet more editorial jobs

Rival The Times claims that Telegraph bosses are preparing to announce up to 105 redundancies, meaning the period of employee consultation has to be increased from one to three months.

A Telegraph spokeswoman denied The Times story and said there were no plans to increase the number of redundancies from the 90 journalists announced two weeks ago.

At present 521 journalists work at the Daily and Sunday Telegraph. Voluntary redundancies are expected across all sections of both papers.

The National Union of Journalists is preparing to hold a ballot of its Telegraph members on the issue of industrial action.
