Ted Baker to introduce 'click and collect' service

Designer brand Ted Baker will plunge into the increasingly crowded 'click and collect' marketplace at the end of the month, in a move to ramp up its multi-channel offering.

The retailer will roll out a ‘click and collect’ service to all its 31 standalone stores in the UK.

Last week, , which will be the first branches to offer a ‘click and collect’ service.

Supermarket giant Tesco, which is increasingly focusing on its clothing ranges, is pursuing an aggressive ‘click and collect’ growth strategy as it looks to double the amount of its stores that offer the service by the end of the year.

Ted Baker hopes its service, which will deliver online purchases to the customer’s local store free of charge, will provide greater traction for its full collection. 

Customers will be able to return unsuitable items free of charge for a full refund in-store, or via the retailer’s online returns system.

The retailer claims there will be a strong focus on communication, with the customer receiving an email at every step of the ordering process, from order and despatch confirmation, through to notification that the order is available for collection.

Craig Smith, Ted Baker brand communication director, said: "This is the first step in a wider programme of multi-channel solutions, which will increase loyalty, enhance the customer experience and ultimately further improve the high levels of service that we pride ourselves on delivering."
