At the time, owners Lucie and Paul Smith they had "tried to undertake a restructuring using [new company] Team Event Management" but that had not worked and there was "now no intention to continue with Team Event Management".
But Companies House records show that Team Event Management simply changed its name to Global Event Management Solutions on 23 August – 12 days after the Eventmagazine.co.uk story.
Global Event Management Solutions, which has the same telephone number as the former company, has a website with a holding page, and the actions have prompted angry reactions from Event readers and creditors of the liquidated firm.
Lucie Smith told event today (20 September) that the new company was not a 'phoenix'."As previously stated Turf Tours Event and Activity Management will be wound up shortly. This company traded under the Team Event management name," said Smith.
"No trading will be undertaken in that name. Global Event Management Solutions is a new smaller company offering event management consultancy."
