
At the ceremony, national speech radio station TalkSport took home two of the most-prized gongs, scooping both the National Sales Team of the Year award and the prize for the Station of the Year above one million TSA (total survey area).
Darren Henley from Classic FM, the only national commercial FM station, won the prize for Radio Programmer of the Year and also received the Feature of the Year award for the A-Z of Classic FM Music.
Star Radio Cambridge won the award for smaller stations, under 300,000 TSA, and Star Radio Cambridge mid-morning presenter Ryan Taylor won the Presentation Newcomer award.
The independent station Lincs FM, of Lincs FM Group, won the prize for mid-sized stations, between 300,000 and one million TSA, and the digital-only national station Planet Rock took the award for Digital Station of the Year.
The Local Radio Company, which has recently been subject to a buyout by UKRD, also picked up an award with Alpha Radio receiving the prize for the Local Sales Team of the Year.
Guardian Media Group's GMG Radio was awarded the Arqiva Gold Award for its investment in documentaries and former GMG chief executive John Myers was awarded the Commercial Radio Special Award for his outstanding contribution to the commercial radio industry.
Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott won the prize for presenters of the year and Take That picked up the award for the most-played UK artist on commercial radio for the second year running.
The Central Office of Information (COI) picked up the RadioCentre chairman's award for its support of the commercial radio industry.
Global Radio's creative technology team won the award for technical innovation for its iPhone application.
