The nominations, revealed last night at an event in central London, give Bauer Media 13 chances to win across 10 categories, including Breakfast Show of the Year, Programmer of the Year and Social Action Initiative of the Year.

No shortlist was revealed for the coveted National Sales Team of the Year prize, which will be announced on the night, but The Bay, MFR and Real Radio North West, were shortlisted for Local Sales Team of the Year.

This year, the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards have joined with the Radio Advertising Awards to create a single event, to honour both commercial and programming teams at RadioCentre member stations.

The award for Best Branded Content will go to either Sky 3D on 'The Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show' on Absolute Radio, Alex Masterley on Classic FM, or the BlackBerry partnership with the breakfast show on Bauer Media’s Kiss.

The shortlist for the Most Effective ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 includes Barclays Business Take One Small Step competition by Walker Media, Cancer Research UK by AMV BBDO, and Windows 7 & the Jingle Bell Ball, Making New Things Possible, by UM London.

In the creative category, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has two nominations for best creative campaign, with nominations for Met Police, Anti-Knife Crime, and Snickers, while Bartle Bogle Hegarty was shortlisted for Tango Praiserama

The shortlist for the Marketing Award includes Clare Baker from Absolute Radio for Faces for Radio, Orion Media’s Beacon FM Fresh and You and the Capital FM Team for Capital FM.

Absolute Radio breakfast show presenter Christian O’Connell will host the awards on the evening of Wednesday 6 July at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza, where there will be live performances from special guests.

Andrew Harrison, chief executive of RadioCentre, said: "The Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards are a great opportunity for our radio stations to showcase their work, whether big household names, or small, local stations.

"This year’s nominations reflect the breadth and diversity of commercial radio, as well as some brilliant, innovative advertising and marketing campaigns."

RadioCentre is the trade body for commercial radio and entries for the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards are accepted from the member stations. UTV Media, owner of TalkSport, UKRD and TLRC are excluded from entry.
