
The survey asked 2,000 people what their current favourite internet access point was now, and what they thought it would be in a year's time.
Personal PC/laptop was picked by 89% of respondents as their current favourite, and by 64% as their favourite in a year's time.
Work PC/laptop was picked by 6% of people as their current favourite and by 6% as their favourite in a year.
The equivalent data for mobile phones was 4% current and 13% in a year, while tablet devices such as the iPad scored 1% current and 11% in a year.
Ebooks, another mobile format, scored 0% as current favourite, but 2% as favourite in a year.
However, the data was not all in favour of mobile formats, with television set to rise from 0% now to 4% in year.
The research was part of the GlobalWebIndex survey produced by TrendStream and used by companies including Razorfish, Nokia and Ogilvy.
