T-Mobile recruits The Saturdays to launch Night In campaign

Girl band The Saturdays have launched a promotion to find T-Mobile customers to star in the network's latest campaign 'Night In', by climbing aboard a giant pink sofa in London's Covent Garden.

The new promotion rewards customers by giving them "five things for £5" at Blockbuster. Customers can rent a game and a movie – or two movies for two nights – buy Blockbuster popcorn, sweets and a bottle of cola for £5. 

Customers who fancy the chance to star in their very own TV ad within T-Mobile's latest campaign, simply need to climb onto the Big Sofa and invite their friends round to their perfect T-Mobile Night In.

Their auditions will be recorded and uploaded onto YouTube at where they'll be judged by T-Mobile's casting panel. The winners will be featured in the T-Mobile 'Night In' television campaign by Saatchi & Saatchi.

Lysa Hardy, head of brand and communications at T-Mobile UK, said: "We want as many of our customers as possible to get involved in the ad campaign, and we hope the giant sofa will inspire people to take part for their chance to star in their own advert on primetime TV."

The event is the latest of T-Mobile's marketing campaigns which has seen the mobile network open up its advertising to the public, following an impromptu dance "flash-mob" at Liverpool Street Station and a karaoke sing-a-long for 13,000 in Trafalgar Square.

The sofa will be taken on tour across the UK, visiting St. Martin's Square, Birmingham on Tuesday 22 June, and Briggate in Leeds on Wednesday 7 July.
