Gritzuhn leaves Wrigley, where he is regional vice-president of Western Europe, after four years. Prior to joining Wrigley, he worked for Procter & Gamble for 12 years, holding several marketing positions in Germany and Sweden.
He takes over from Arora, who quit in September and is set to join Google this month as vice-president of European operations. Arora's departure has sparked a reorganisation of T-Mobile's international marketing operation, which is led out of London, with reports that senior executives are considering restructuring the division, with closure among the options, or relocating the office to Hatfield, where the UK marketing team is located.
T-Mobile said that Gritzuhn would focus on further build-up of the brand, product development, market and brand communications and sponsorship.
Rene Obermann, chief executive of T-Mobile International, said: "With Gritzuhn, T-Mobile is gaining a marketing expert with many years of international experience. He is bringing with him the necessary tools to give the company the impulse required at this extremely important market stage."
