A spokesperson for The Sunday Times said the decision had been taken because of the downturn in the online world.
None of Doors' staff are to lose their jobs and all the columnists will remain. The supplement was first published as a standalone last October. Before that, it had appeared as part of Culture.
However, any change in the current economic situation could see the supplement revived. "Doors editorially has been a big success, and a big success with the readers," the spokesperson said.
There has been speculation that the Daily Telegraph is to close its internet supplement dotcom, which has also seen advertising revenue shrink.
