Malone, who appeared on 'Celebrity Big Brother' earlier this year, joins the biggest-selling Sunday title after more than 10 years as a columnist at the Sunday Mirror.
She replaces Ulrika Jonsson who joined News of the World as a columnist just over four years ago. News of the World is reportedly still in talks with Jonsson about potentially doing some other work for them.
Colin Myler, News of the World editor, said: "Carole Malone is unquestionably one of Britain's outstanding columnists. She is controversial, irreverent, fearless, funny and devastatingly un-PC. She pulls no punches and takes no prisoners."
Malone said: "I'm delighted to be joining Britain's biggest Sunday newspaper. I'm especially delighted to be working with Colin Myler again who despite having previously employed me as a columnist is, thankfully, prepared to do it again."
Earlier in her career Malone was a columnist on the Sunday Express and the Daily Star newspapers.
