Spokespeople for the Channel 4 programme were unsure whether contestants for 'Big Brother 4', which gets under way on Friday, have access to The Sun and, therefore, know that there is an incentive to, as it were, get it on.
In The Sun this morning, the paper said: "The rules are simple -- we will give £50,000 to the first Big Brother boy-girl bonk. We don't care where -- in the house, in the garden, in the pool -- as long as they get it together."
The newspaper plans to run a poll for readers to decide whether or not the couple were "making it or faking it". Versions of the show in France, Italy, Australia, Russia, Norway and even Belgium have all seen housemates have sex. In the UK, there have been under-duvet fumblings, such as last year's between Jade Goody and PJ.
The Sun has been the self-styled "Official Big Brother" newspaper since the first series ran in 2000.
The newspaper is offering a rival text message service for updates on the goings-on in the Big Brother house. Official sponsor O2 is also offering a text message service for fans of the show.
Last year's winner Kate Lawler is now presenting Channel 4's 'RI:SE' breakfast show.
