
In his new role, Whyte will be responsible for leading Acxiom across the region, in particular helping the company develop its consumer insight programmes.
Axciom specialises in direct marketing, e-marketing and consulting, and also offers clients a range of marketing database solutions.
Whyte spent four years as the chief executive of McCann Erickson between 2004 and 2008.
Previous to that, he had been the EMEA client services director of the McCann Worldgroup, and the chief executive of Leo Burnett.
Since leaving McCann Erickson last year, Whyte has been working as a consultant for the JCA Group.
