Starcom MediaVest hands Swinand new global role

LONDON - Starcom MediaVest Group has named Andrew Swinand as its president of global operations following a spell leading the Publicis consultancy operation, Denuo.

Swinand will develop new client-facing service models across the company, while pushing the digital platforms that now fall under the Vivaki umbrella.

Before joining Denuo, Swinand was president and chief client officer of Starcom Worldwide, where he helped secure the agency's Samsung business. In his new role he will oversee the Nintendo account across Starcom Worldwide.

The appointment of the newly created role, comes as Starcom MediaVest steps up its efforts in Asia Pacific, Latin America and EMEA.

Swinand will work alongside the five regional chief executives whose responsibilities take in these areas.

In North America, Starcom MediaVest operations will continue to report directly into global chief executive Laura Desmond, who has taken over from Renatta McCann, who is due to begin a 12-month sabbatical in January.
