Staples, the office products superstore chain, is reviewing its
creative and media agencies, currently Bates Dorland and Zenith
Media.
The client has shortlisted four agencies, including the incumbents, for
the pounds 6m business pitch.
Presentations take place in the next few weeks with a decision expected
shortly afterward.
The review comes only a year after the superstore chain shifted its
creative account out of Creative Communications in Leeds into Bates
Dorland.
Nick Forster, advertising and media manager at Staples, said: ’We review
all our suppliers on an ongoing basis.’
Staples has 34 outlets across the UK. Until two years ago, it was part
of the Kingfisher Group.
In 1996, Staples’ US parent firm acquired rival Office Depot, resulting
in Kingfisher withdrawing from its UK shareholding.
