The move comes as Daniel Caleb, previously sales and marketing manager at the museum, is promoted to event spaces manager. He will focus on budgeting and operations at the venue.
Stacey will oversee the commercial development of the Wellcome Collection, leading and developing the conference centre business. She will also be responsible for management and development of the retail and merchandise operations, and manage relations with the contracted external partners for catering and the on-site shop.
Her previous role was commercial manager at Whitechapel Gallery in London, where she managed the delivery of profits across all revenue streams from the venue’s commercial activities.
Stacey said: "I am delighted to be joining the Wellcome Collection at such a key point in its development, and look forward to contributing to its growth through an exciting period of dramatic change.
"In particular, I am excited to be working closely with Dan and his highly experienced events team on the significant improvements and changes to our conference centre and event spaces, which will launch in the spring."
Wellcome Collection’s conference centre, currently part of a £17.5m redevelopment programme, will reopen in May. It features a tiered auditorium and four flexible event spaces.
