Sport magazine undergoes makeover

LONDON - Sport, the free weekly magazine, has undergone a revamp, led by the introduction of a new layout and several new sections.

More than half of the magazine's pages have been redesigned, including its news, health and fitness and TV guide sections.

New sections include a comment page, a section called "World of Sport" that summarises global sport news, and "Instant Expert", a guide to one of the week's hot sporting topics.

Sport, which claims the redesign promotes "a more flowing read", said that further design changes are planned to its website.

Simon Caney, editor of Sport, said the refresh and new sections are a result of reader engagement and surveys.

Sport is distributed to London commuters at tube stations and gyms and health clubs in the South East, as well as to Eurostar, British Airways and BMI business class passengers.

Sport averaged a circulation of 315,406 copies during the first half of 2008.
