The 12-page spoof edition, which ran with the slogan "We live on Financial Crimes", mocking the FT's advertising strapline "We live in Financial Times", was handed out at Waterloo station this morning.
A campaign group, called "Reclaim The Sheets", claimed to have produced the salmon pink spoof issue and accompanying website www.ft2020.com that carried headlines like "Capitalism isn't really democracy-official" and "There is such a thing as society, PM says".
Tens of thousands of the spoof issue were published, which parodied FT staples like "Lunch with FT" along with UK and international news.
The Financial Times, owned by Pearson, said: "This isn't the first time this has happened. We will continue to focus on reporting and analysing the G20 summit next week."
The spokesman added: "It's not the FT, no comment, but No FT, no comment."
A number of groups are planning protests in the next few days over London hosting the G20 summit.
