The campaign, which features the tagline 'see what Spam can do', aims to show Brits how versatile the canned meat can be.

Those who stop by the vehicle will receive a free portion of the US brand’s hot Spam fries and learn about other recipes, such as Spam hash, to try at home.

The trailer itself is decked out in yellow signage, with a giant inflatable rocket on its roof.

Spam merchandise, including lanyards and trolley tokens, are be up for grabs for those who take part in the brand's alley game. Visitors can also have their photo taken inside a giant branded can.

The tour started in Liverpool last month, to coincide with Spam Appreciation Week.

Next, the van will hit the Classic Car Boot Sale in King’s Cross on 16-17 April, before visiting other family-friendly events in Shropshire, Birmingham, Sunderland, Cheshire and Blackpool. It will finish at CarFest South in Hampshire from 26-28 August.

The campaign is being promoted across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #SPAMCanTour. It follows the brand’s Spamerican tour in the US.

A Spam spokesperson told Event: "With more than 12,000 Spam fries served over the weekend, the first event was a huge success ... The main objective is to show the British people what Spam can really do! It can be fried, sliced, grilled or eaten cold and we’ll be demonstrating just how versatile this iconic meat really is."
