Taylor-Smith will hold the position for the next two years, and takes over from the Southbank Centre head of events Froniga Lambert.
South Bank Venues Groups, the collective of venues based on London’s South Bank, includes the EDF Energy London Eye, BFI IMAX, the Southbank Centre and OXO Tower Wharf. It was formed in 2010 to promote the offerings of South Bank venues.

She said: "I look forward to taking over the reins from Froniga who has been an effective and dynamic leader over the last two years. I hope that I can build on her achievements, bringing a wealth of experience and fresh new ideas to the group."
Taylor-Smith originally joined the National Theatre in 2008 as an event manager, before working on Essex Polo, Cartier Polo, and the Paris Air Show events for Best Parties Ever/ Tapenade.
She rejoined the National Theatre in 2012 in her current role where she is in charge of planning and delivering events throughout hire spaces such as the award-winning The Deck.
