Soar, who leaves on 12 June, worked across FreshRM's portfolio, a joint venture between Montogomery and Reed. She helped organise events including Interbuild, The International Food and Drink Exhibition and Hotelympia.
"I have no plans to get involved in events in the immediate future," she told Event. "The future for exhibitions looks promising though, with some stunning products and shows coming out. We saw a dip in size over the spring, but we're confident exhibitions will survive the crunch and beyond."
She added that she would most miss the people involved in events and the suppliers she worked with.
Soar's duties will now be taken on by operations director Janice Edmunds and operations executive Simmone Collett.
