Soapstars and music has-beens head for I'm a Celebrity

LONDON - Punk impresario Malcolm McLaren, former soap star Gemma Atkinson and Right Said Fred brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass are being lined up to star in the seventh series of ITV's reality show 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'.

According to a raft of tabloid newspaper reports, the Fairbrass brothers, former 'Hollyoaks' star Atkinson who is famous for dating Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo and who earlier this week signed as the new face for underwear firm Ultimo and McLaren are among 14 names being touted as either appearing on the show, which launches next Monday, or on standby.

It is hoped that the line-up, which is also set to include former 'EastEnders' star Mark Bannerman, footballer turned pundit Rodney Marsh and pantomime regular Christopher Biggins, will help ITV replicate the success of last year's series, which attracted 8.9m viewers on its opening night and averaged 8.1m viewers over the series.

Last year's series, which was won by former Busted star Matt Willis, also attracted a 34% share of viewers over its run and peaked at 10m and a 42.6% share.

This year's series will again be sponsored by food retailer Iceland, in a deal that includes broadcast sponsorship on both ITV1 and ITV2, interactive, mobile, online, off-screen licensing and on-air marketing. The sponsorship will feature Kerry Katona who is also a past winner of 'I'm a Celebrity...'.

Other names touted to appear in the latest series include Prince Andrew's ex-girlfriend Koo Stark, former supermodel Janice Dickenson, the singer Cerys Matthews, PR guru Lynne Franks and TV makeover show presenter Anna Ryder Richardson.
