For one afternoon, Slater, who has often been in the press for his off-screen behaviour involving drinking, will be taking over the role of pub landlord Al Murray to promote his hit West End show, 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'.
The guest appearance by the star of 'Heathers' and 'Broken Arrow' on Sunday March 12 between 4pm and 7pm is part of a co-promotion between Virgin Radio and the Garrick Theatre, where a 10-week run of the show will start on March 21.
The playlist will be full of Slater's personal favourite tracks from both sides of the pond, ranging from Franz Ferdinand to the Rolling Stones.
The star, who once played a DJ role in his 'Heathers' follow-up 'Pump up the Volume', said: "I'm absolutely passionate about music and really looking forward to the chance to inflict my taste on the British public.
"As this is for one afternoon only anything could happen so let's hope it's good enough for me not to be banned from radio for life."
Paul Jackson, programming director at Virgin Radio, said: "This will be a show not to be missed as Christian's a real livewire and the show could go any way."
