Virgin Radio competition to create 24 buzz for Sky

LONDON – The new series of '24' on Sky One will be promoted on Virgin Radio with a special 24-hour competition kicking off at 5pm on Thursday.

Each hour, DJs will give away an LCD TV and Sky+ for a year to a listener who correctly guesses which US city '24''s hero Jack Bauer is in from on-air clues.

The biggest prize is awarded to the listener who calls in at the end of the marathon competition to tell the DJ the list of 24 cities Bauer was in. They will win a trip to the set of '24' at Fox Studios in the US.

With Sky One airing the first episode of the fifth series on Sunday, BSkyB marketing director Charles Ponsonby is expecting the radio promotion to generate excitement.

Nick Hewat, sales director at Virgin Radio, said: "Having all of our weekday DJs deliver this mechanic will deliver real stand-out for the promotion and make it a talking point across the country."
