Goswami interrupted Dyke several times during his 'Greg Dyke speaks out' speech at the Royal Television Society dinner held last Thursday.
On one of the occasions, Dyke said: "No one joins the BBC to get rich", at which point Goswami began asking questions about his pension and that of other BBC executives.
The whole ruckus appeared to upset other diners because Dyke is held in high regard among TV chiefs, especially since his dismissal from the BBC in the wake of the Hutton Report and the ensuing Butler Report.
BSkyB staff were told Goswami had left with immediate effect on Wednesday September 29.
Goswami joined BSkyB in October 2000 as commercial director, with responsibility for joint venture investments and relationships with other platforms, such as cable television.
Prior to joining Sky, he was managing director of third party programming at UPC, Europe's largest cable television operator. He also sits on the Music Choice board, which he joined in December 2002.
