The move is part of a review of the company's Online Business Unit, which has already resulted in the demise of its property and dating websites along with MyKindaPlace and Monkeyslum.

A company spokesman said the closure is part of a "reorganisation of the site to focus on our core strengths: news, sport and entertainment across Sky.com, Sky News, Sky Sports, Sky Showbiz, Sky Travel and Sky1."

Two members of staff are in consultation as a result of the closure, but the spokesman ruled out further closures in the company's Online Business Unit "for the time being". He added: "I can't say things won't change in the future."

The motoring site will close next month.
