The broadcaster will screen a 90-minute primetime highlights show from each of the four tournaments that make up the series during June and July.

The series kicks off at the RugbyRocks sports and music festival on 12 June in Richmond, London, prior to events at Bath, Manchester and Newquay.

The sevens series features up and coming talent as well as internationals from the IRB Sevens World Series.

Tim Lacey, chief executive of Ultimate Rugby Sevens, said: "This is a hugely exciting development for sevens in the UK. The reach and exposure that Sky Sports will bring the Series in its first season will be significant not only for the Series, its tournaments and teams, but also for the profile of the sport domestically."

. Feeder, Just Jack (DJ), The Parlotones and Alex Gardner are all confirmed for the event.
