The online service, currently in test phase, will allow subscribers and non-subscribers to access Setanta's channels, such as Setanta 1, 2, Setanta Golf and Setanta Sports News.
It will be rolled out across the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Ireland over the coming weeks.
In the UK, the service aims to reach Setanta's three-million pay-TV subscribers, who must pay £2.99 a month to access it. Non-subscribers will be able to access it online for £7.99.
While the service will predominantly be funded through subscriptions, Setanta said it will be looking to carry ads around its free content.
The on-demand and live service will allow users to record and forward content and offers personalised features, such as a favourites and playlist.
