The event, which is being held outside of London for the first time, will take place between 29 and 31 August and will form part of Scotland’s Year of Homecoming celebrations.
The show builds on the success of the BBC television series produced by Wall to Wall, in which celebrities trace their ancestry. The Scottish event will include genealogy experts, free workshops, a celebrity theatre and specialist exhibitors.
Who Do You Think You Are? Live will complement a number of ancestral, clan and family events taking place across Scotland as part of the Homecoming programme, including Bannockburn Live, Highland Homecoming and the 10th Clan Munro International Gathering.
The London show, now in its eighth year, is taking place at Olympia on 20-22 February and last year welcomed 14,000 visitors across the three-day event.
Andy Healy, show director, said: "I am excited that our first show outside of London will be held in Scotland, and will form part of this special year of Homecoming celebrations. Who Do You Think You Are? Live helps genealogists, from beginners to experts, to further unravel their family history stories and we will be able to bring our interactive, informative and entertaining live event to a brand new audience later in the year."
Fergus Ewing, tourism minister, added: "The Year of Homecoming 2014 will provide a unique opportunity to encourage more and more visitors, both international and domestic to come and enjoy Scotland and will position Scotland on the international stage as a dynamic and creative nation. This family history event, Who Do You Think You Are? Live, will help tourism business across Scotland tap into the ancestral tourism market gold mine this year."
